Building with Cob Workshops with Bernhard Masterson
June 29, 2009 by Curt Siters
Just received this from my friend Bernhard Masterson who is really big into natural building. He has some upcoming workshops and I thought I would pass it on to everyone.
Build a Cob Shelter by the Creek
As part of the SolWest Renewable Energy Fair I will be teaching a five day cob workshop in John Day, Oregon July 20-24th. It will cover each step of the cob process as we build a picnic shelter. Cost is $450.
SolWest Renewable Energy Fair
The tremendous SolWest Fair, July 24-26, will educate and inspire you with new ways to use the energy of the sun. I’ll bring natural building to the fair on Saturday morning when I present a short workshop on clay plasters. Complete coverage of the SolWest fair is at www.solwest.com Fair admission is a bargain at $10 for adults (all three days) and $20 for the whole family.
Cooking with Wood
In August from the 14th – 16th, I will lead an earthen oven workshop at Fernhill Nursery in Cottage Grove, Oregon. We’ll build an oven and demonstrate its use in the dance that melds wonderful food, friends, fire, and a bit of theater. http://www.fernhillnursery.com/workshops Cost is $250
Complete Cob
I’ll return to the North American School of Natural Building to teach their most popular course that covers all you need to know to build your own cob cottage. August 22-30, www.cobcottage.com Cost is $880
These workshops are not yet full so I hope you can join us. If you have friends who might be interested please pass this information along.
